The 2024 Subaru Forester will receive a new variant or trim package soon; a Registration of Interest (ROI) page has quietly surfaced on the Subaru Malaysia website for the Forester GT Wild Lite edition. The new variant/package adds a suite of aesthetic accessories to give the Forester a more rugged outlook.
The GT Wild Lite edition receives a Subaru ‘Hill Decal’ on the side of its body and another ‘anti-glare’ hood decal on the front bonnet. Elsewhere, the package includes newly designed two-tone alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tyres.
Otherwise, everything is mostly the same, power comes from Subaru’s trademark naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre 4-cylinder boxer engine that makes 156 PS and 196 Nm. This is mated to the Subaru Lineartronic CVT and power is sent to all 4 wheels via the Symmetrical AWD system.
Offered as standard on all variants also is the Subaru EyeSight 4.0 ADAS suite which offers a better-expanded field of vision thanks to a new set of stereo cameras and to offer full Level 2 autonomous driving.

On the website, the GT Wild Lite is listed as a non-standard accessory which can be officially installed at selected Subaru dealerships. Thus, our best guess is the GT Wild package will be offered optionally to GT Lite customers, or be offered as a separate variant alongside it, but at a similar price tag.
According to some dealer ads, the GT Wild Lite variant/kit will reportedly be offered starting May 2024, so we’ll have to wait and see.
